NCHSE Scholarship

2010 Scholarship Recipients

With nearly 1,000 qualified scholarship applicants, it is a true testament that HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) really does influence and make a difference in career selections and lives of so many young people. In June, at the 2010 HOSA National Leadership in Orlando, HOSA presented fifty scholarships totaling over $56,000. The National Consortium for Health Science Education (NCHSE) is pleased to be a contributor to the National HOSA Scholarship Program. NCHSE is grateful to HOSA for allowing us an avenue for providing money for these most deserving young people who, indeed, will represent our organization and HOSA well in their work in the healthcare field.

National HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) is extremely grateful to the National Consortium for Health Science Education for their support of the HOSA Scholarship Program through their generous annual donation of two $1000 awards to very deserving young people.  Student scholarships amounting to $50,750 were distributed in June at the 2009 National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

Interesting facts about this year’s scholarship process were:
* HOSA recieved over 750 scholarship applications making the process a little “more interesting” to manage than in previous years.  This is a good challenge that HOSA readily accepts.
* HOSA works with three university professors not involved directly with HOSA to rate the scholarships.

The Consortium’s continued commitment to HOSA’s Scholarship Program is a testament to the strong partnership between health science education and the student organization.
