The 100X Leader Summit

The 2019 Institute for Educational Excellence (IEE) day one features the 100X Leader  Summit, a special NCHSE pre-conference experience designed to help leaders climb to their highest potential and then show others how to do the same.

A recent global survey concluded that 9 out of 10 people believe there is a leadership crisis in all levels of organizations. From society at large to family to schools and associations, followers are crying out for leaders worth following.

The 100X Summit experience is designed to give health science education leaders the tools, methods, and insights to grow their own leadership to 100% and then multiply it through classroom, clinical, CTE, and partnership settings.

During the 100X Leader Academy, you will learn:

  • What a 100X leader is and why they are so important to every organization
  • Your leadership voice and the role of nature, nurture and choice in building and undermining influence
  • How leaders are “Sherpas” and guides that equip followers to climb to success
  • How to create an atmosphere of growth and high performance
  • How to know yourself to lead yourself
  • How to manage expectations
  • The science of multiplication

Activities in a Pinch

Activities in a Pinch provides a hands-on workshop for health science teachers with a variety of fun and easy to recreate labs, demonstrations, media & technology suggestions, terminology, math, and literacy strategies that could be used in any health science classroom. The workshop includes activities in anatomy and physiology for all body systems, medical terminology, sports medicine, medical math, forensics, as well as how to make your curriculum more applicable to the student, how to implement literacy and math competencies from the Common Core, and how to provide other means of student learning assessments.

This session will provide health science teachers with resources to improve the delivery and retention of their curriculum. Teachers are looking to enhance their teaching methods yet often do not have the time to develop their own activities. They will find exactly what they are looking for with Activities in a Pinch. This session will be lead by Denise Abbott, MAEd, RN, BS, EMT and Robbie Rauzi, MSED, ATC, EMT. Education is constantly evolving and Denise and Robbie understand the importance of incorporating literacy and math strategies into the classroom.

Call for Proposals

Do you have a message you could share?

The National Health Science Conference sessions are formatted primarily for 45-50 minute breakout sessions. A limited number of 90-minute breakout sessions will be available. Rooms will be set as a theater or classroom depending upon registration numbers.

Interactive sessions with opportunities for facilitated discussion, as well as sessions with a problem-based approach, are preferred. Preference will be given to sessions that include proven and well-regarded speakers and sessions that focus on outcomes and learning rather than a lecture approach. Sessions should present a balanced view of issues and a diversity of perspectives, teaching strategies, and health professions.
